I confess to coveting those images of felt acorns that are all over Pinterest. But I can't find any oak trees around here, so I was really excited when I realised that gumnuts and eucalyptus nuts make for an excellent Australiana acorn. Woody flora and squishy wool felt, such a scrummy combo. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the piles of these I have been making, ha!

We're lucky enough to have D's mum Catherine over from NZ to stay for a week or so at the moment. The other night, we were all discussing how silly it is that Ginger Ninja is terrified of Catherine - as soon as he sees her he takes off like the proverbial scalded cat. Dearest darling daughter matter-of-factly declared "I don't think he's scared of Nana Catherine, he's just terrified of the smell of old."
Thank the gods that Catherine has an awesome sense of humour. And she loves Immy as much as Immy loves her....because the rest of us were too busy choking on our laughter to come to her rescue for a few minutes!

This boy. Oh man, he makes me laugh. Tonight he was doing something terribly seven-year-old-boy, and trying to give himself a wedgie. (What's with that?) This is the conversation that followed:
Me: Coley, honey, don't do that dude. You'll wreck your pj pants and give yourself haemmoroids.
Cole:pardon?
Me:You know, haemmoroids - in your butt.
Cole: gales of laughter
Me: what's so funny?
Cole: (proceeding to fall about on the floor with giggles)
Me: (joining the laughter) seriously dude, what's the deal?
Cole: so...if I give myself a wedgie I'm going to get chicken meteors out my butt?
Me: What?!?!?!
Cole: That's what you said - that I'll get hen roids.
