...will they let you do before they call in the white coats? (in the true interests of the mental health of the parents, the number should probably be 0 at most!)
We are on the move again. Again. Oy vey. The original plan had been to stay here and settle, but unfortunately Rotorua wasn't quite the right fit for us after all, and after 18+ months of D working crazy hours (again) for not much gain we decided we really needed to make a move to somewhere that worked for everyone in the family - it's no fun working ridiculous hours and missing out on your family, no fun being a single parent as well as trying to be a supportive wife in the wee hours for a very overloaded husband, and no fun not getting to see Dad!
So when the camel-breaking straw came about (the firm changed direction overnight. And unilaterally) D bought himself a little time and resigned - he finished work at the end of March, and it has been lovely having him around (it's also driven me a tiny bit spare!) We also put the house on the market and - miracle of miracles in this market - it sold quickly and well. Yay! So we have packers coming next Thursday to put everything we own into boxes and the boxes into containers and the containers somewhere else.
And where are we off to, you ask? Good question! We're still in the final stges of figuring that out...obviously in a perfect world we would have had the next job lined up at this point, but I guess we like things even a bit more last minute than I'd care to admit. (That or the Universe is seriously having a laugh. Cut it out, Universe!) All we know for sure is it won't be in Rotorua.
In the meantime, we are lucky enough to be able to rent family friends' gorgeous wee bach (bach= kiwi for little holiday place) at Lake Rotoma. It will be a delicious end to our time here - and although it's only wee, it has a treehut and a trampoline, and the cats can stay with us, so everyone is very happy...even if it means I can't bring my sewing machine along. (handwork and knitting people, be prepared to see much handwork and knitting!) And it is right next door to my mum, which is the cherry on top! Cole and Immy are excited to be living next door to their grandparents...I daresay there will be much *whipping next door* in the near future!
9 more sleeps in this house...wish us luck! I will endeavour to get on and post between now and next week a little, but in the lull please rest assured I am merely in a corner in the foetal position, rocking back and forth!
hey, dont worry about the moving thing - we do a lot of it too...and about to again!
I worry so much about my kids and the number of moves we've had but hope that the love we show them provides them with the security they need.
Not everything works out perfectly and I think that its all just a part of lifes path...
I desperately want to feel settled somewhere but still waiting for that to happen.
I'll join you in the foetal position in the corner ...lol

Oh Leonie, come on over and we can practice our new sport of synchronised rocking! lol
Youre so right though - love and care outweighs the number of times we use packing boxes...I guess I just feel it all a bit now with all the uncertainty at the moment, and with the kids being older (and they *should* have started school at the place 9 doors down in 2 weeks time but not now) and and and....well get there! And so will you!

Moving - what a awful thought to have to pack.
I couldn't even imagine packing up my stash - not alone my entire house!!
