I sent this off to a longarm quilter on Friday to be basted and quilted. I am trying to pretend I am not fretting anxiously whilst it's away. It's the components to the bigass quilt I've posted about previously.
And man, I think the working title is apt - the quilt will end up somewhere in the vicinity of 104" by 97". No wonder I kept putting off the next step...I was quite literally stumped on how to finish this behemoth myself. And the thought of basting it gave me the willies. Thankfully, that's where professional longarm quilters come in.
Since I didn't get a photo of the finished back, I'll need to wait for its return before introducing you. I'll just say that finding a plain charcoal cotton in Rotorua is the other side of impossible, if you're not wanting to wait for an international order (I have half a mind to become a Kaufmann distributor solely to introduce Kona solids to the nation!!) Needless to say, I compromised...hopefully the charcoal linen/cotton mix is up to the task!
