I just couldn't shake the idea of that crocheted granny stripe blanket. So I started my version of one, using Attic24's info as a guide, but instead of bright wools, the base of mine is (going to be) random stripes of the gorgeous colourgrown organic cotton that I used for BahaCoca's summer hats. (The brand is Pakucho from Peru). I have 6 (or is it 7?) of the colourgrown varieties and am planning to just add stripes at will (and trying hard to be random!) until it seems like about the right size...the cotton yarn look a bit like string in the photo but don't let that fool you, it is super soft and snuggly, and I can't wait to have a fabric made out of this loveliness. Eventually. So yeah, a longterm project! So far, I'm a bit pleased...
The lovely Kirsty at Kootoyou runs the Creative Space meme each week...it's great to get a peek into what others are doing!
*actually my creative space today has been much more focussed on one small boy home from Monty as he was feeling poorly. In his own words (at the breakfast table no less): mama, some vomit just came out of my butt! Kinda says it all really, non?
The blanket sounds lovely! Hope the wee ones are feeling better and not sharing the love with you. I do recall my youngest announcing at around the same age that he just had a "throat poop" after a stomach bug affected the other end....I'll never get that image out of my head!
