This old chest (D built it, I padded the top and covered it all over a decade ago. It's desperately in need of a makeover with some funkier fabric that works in the kids' room, and I promise this time I'll line the lid!!!) has been moved into Cole and Imogen's room to try and help us acquire (and maintain) some semblance of order in there. At present, the ridiculously large collection of stuffed toys lives in this chest, and I thought this was a bit cute when I spied it the other day...why sit on the padded lid when you can sit in the chest nestled amongst your favourite softies? With all the other toys in the room pulled up close around you? I love that they are as enamoured with my old Richard Scarry collection as I was (and still am!)
And the best bit? After the camera going off alerted their spidey senses to my presence at the door, I was greeted with *mama, it is not appropriate for you to take photos of us when we are just having some peace and quiet!* Oops, ten demerit points for me!

It was pretty funny...especially given that phrase is most often uttered by their mother when she'd like to go to the loo sans children accompanying her eagle eyed and on occasion, offering to help! Nikki, you have all this ahead of you!!!! Then again, some days I'm just grateful they don't repeat my more colourful phrases!
