So. Here we are. Monday night and we fly out on Friday night. Not long now. The kids are asleep and D is still at work (it’s about 11pm…long hours these days!) So…I could start the packing process and sort out what is coming with us and which things we’ve been hanging on to but will be leaving with friends. Or I could tackle that pile of ironing that seems to breed every 5 minutes. Or do the dishes. Or…I could enjoy our semi-frequent internet access and spend the evening mucking about collecting ideas for colour schemes and quilt ideas for Cole and Imogen’s new room. Guess which I picked?!
The littles will continue sharing a room…I really don’t think they’re ready to be in different rooms yet (and I certainly am not…I’m still dealing with the trauma of my itty bitties turning 3!) so I’ve been thinking for a while now about how to tackle a general idea/colour scheme that will work well together but still allow each munchkin their own space and identity. Unlike with their nursery, I don’t have one key fabric to tie it all together, but am going the colours route. So, the plan is: pinks and oranges for Immy and blues and oranges for Cole, with a good measure of greens and teals, and a little red and yellow and white and so forth to fill it all out and pull it all together.
I’ll be making all the quilts and soft furnishings and so forth for their room, of course, so have also started collecting some fabric loveliness that will work…what a terrible coincidence that my stash just happens to be deficient in these hues. Bugger.
So, what do you think?
