The car is packed, the last minute orders are finished and I am off to the Craft Market held at the SkyCity in Hamilton tomorrow. Wish me luck, wish the visitors spending urges, and wishing you all a lovely Sunday!
I'm back...it just took me a while to catch my breath. Turns out, a full day craft market on my own after 4 hours' sleep whilst I'm up to the eyeballs with the flu (and numerous medications to counteract the worst symptoms of it) is not altogether the smartest plan. Add in an 80 minutes drive each way and I was over it all a bit by Sunday night. Funny that.
The market itself was not bad - a lovely venue (in the enormous Function room at Hamilton's Casino - smack in the centre of town. Inside!!!!) and well organised, I think it will do really well once people hear of it - Sunday was the first one, so it's not had much chance to gain a presence yet. As a result it was a little quiet on the shoppers and sales front, but worth the trip. I'll be back next month!
I had a primo spot right as people walked in the door, but I think my stall is looking a little overcrowded (not helped by my leaving the hat display stand at home - have I shared that here? D whipped it up for me!) so I need to figure out what I can pare back...somewhat ironic since my main motivation for doing the markets at the moment is to move the BahaCoca stock that is threatening to take over my life!(even if I do keep coming up with new things to make and sell! oops)
Lots of ink. And lots and lots of yarn. I am frantically trying to finish up a few new patterns for kits for a craft market next weekend, to get enough samples done for photographing, and to ensure the patterns are perfect. It's coming along.
See loads more creative spaces, and some even without last-minute induced hysteria, over at Kootoyou.
That's me at the moment. Busily trying to keep a few extra balls in the air at the moment, and - thanks to particularly charming case of Tonsillitis (again!?) - sounding like the result of a love affair between Demi Moore and Alvin the Chipmunk. Which is going to make selling at the Market tomorrow extra entertaining...what are my chances of getting some sympathy sales? lol
The usual (closely cropped to miss out the chaos) shots of what it's like in the studio at the moment, packing and getting ready - tomorrow is CraftMad over in Hamilton. Plenty of divinely warm hand knitted hats and luscious skeins of hand dyed merino coming with me tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, and hoping for a nice day - it's mostly an inside venue, but my stall is outside on the covered tennis courts...we're protected overhead but as there are no walls, a biting wind or horizontal rain could make things decidedly unpleasant!
I was hoping to release a couple of kits there tomorrow that I have been working on, but I think I've left it a little too late. Pity, but will be something fun for next month I guess - non-baby related patterns and kits...who knew!?!
(the bank is completely innocent...just happened to the pen in the shot!) Then again, piggy bank cosies....mmmm....
